Replace the bath by a cabin.

SOLUTIONS FOR THE GUEST BATHROOM

The guest bathroom is usually located in a small space, which means it needs to be carefully planned if we wish to obtain a welcoming and comfortable bathroom. Gala offers different products whose design solves space and storage problems while providing a contemporary look.

General advice

  • Compact distribution. In order to make the most of space and to assure the comfort of the bathroom, you should leave the central space empty. Cabinets should be placed in corners, the sanitary ware should be minimized (WC, wash-basin and shower) and “compact” versions should be chosen, as they are shorter, as well as wall-hung ones, in order to leave free space on the floor and increase the visual continuity.

  • Clear areas. You should leave free spaces around the sanitary ware (it is not enough if they just fit in). The WC needs a width of 80 cm. and a length of 110 cm; the washstand needs a width of 70-80 cm and a length of 90-110 cm. And in order to have access to the shower you should leave a free space of 70 cm.

  • Clever lights. You may increase the height, the magic and even the visual perspectives by using an invisible lighting, by means of zenithal openings with hidden fluorescent lights that wash over the walls, built-in spotlights in the shower that create intimacy and low-intensity LEDs under the shelves in order to create the illusion that they are floating.

  • Storage. Rather than having many cabinets, it is essential to place them where you really need them and to have everything perfectly stored and on hand, but out of sight, in order to create a clear bathroom which will seem spacious.

  • The most practical and most demanded furniture units are the wall-hung ones, as they leave free space underneath, they make cleaning easier and they increase the feeling of spaciousness. Most of them have very practical drawers. Emma Square has a wide range of sizes to choose from.

·         Choose small-sized sanitary ware

  •  Wash-basin. You should build in the washstand into a countertop that goes along the wall, in order to leave free space on the floor, to find additional space for brushes and soaps and to multiply metres and sensations. Try to reinforce the effect with a wall-hung mirror (try one with a demister and antithermal system so that you may use it after showering). Gala offers a wide range of wall-hung, built-in, over-counter and vanity wash-basins that are able to cover the current needs in a guest bathroom. Some of the more suitable models are EmmaStreet and Jazz, in the version that adapts most to the available space.
  • Shower. Replace the bath by a shower cabin of 80 x 120 cm (minimum 90 x 75 cm), or by an ultra-slim shower tray, clear and frameless enclosures and thermostatic tap fittings. The corner shower trays Vita and Esfera, 80 x 80 cm, are a good option. The square shower tray Elba, even smaller, 70 x 70 cm, enables the installation of a shower in a guest toilet so that it may be used as a second bathroom. The enclosure Step adapts to the dimensions of both models. The option of a hydromassage column is provided by the column Sky: plenty of sensory pleasure in a reduced space.
  • WC. Choose a compact WC or a wall-hung one with a hidden built-in cistern so that only the push-button is visible, and with dual flush so as to be able to save up to 40% of water per year. The WCs EmmaStreet and Jazz, matching their wash-basins, or combined with the wash-basins and furniture units previously recommended, are the best options.
