A bathroom with a wellness area

INVIGORATING BATHS

We provide the keys to transform your bathroom into a multipurpose space where, apart from the daily hygiene, you will be able to enjoy moments of relaxation recharging your batteries in the most pleasant way.

The bathroom is no longer only a place for personal hygiene, but also a space to rest from the daily routines and to regain strength. It seemed that this new concept implied having a spacious and spectacular bathroom. But nowadays we see that this is not strictly necessary. The moment has come to democratize pleasure. It is possible to have a bathroom with a wellness area, even though your bathroom is small, or with a complicated floor plan and even if you have a tight budget. Gala has joined design and technology to set up a “normal” bathroom with massage and relaxation elements. There are several alternatives, but all of them have the easy installation of the different elements in common, as well as the absence of great works, while including numerous features and an easy use.

Columns: Pleasure does not take any space.

Its installation does not imply any works, you only need to disassemble the old tap fittings and install the column, and it does not need a power outlet, unless it includes music, radio… What you need to take into account, especially in old houses, is that the water flow needs to be in accordance with the one required by the column, as otherwise the water pressure would not be correct and the hydromassage options would not have the expected results. The pressure should range between 10 and 15 litres of water per minute. The columns are also very easy to use and very practical, as they offer similar features as the hydromassage baths, but without taking up so much space. They consume the same amount of water as a regular shower and therefore our monthly bill should not be affected. In some cases, and depending on the mechanisms they include, water consumption might be even lower.

The columns included in the Gala catalogue offer endless possibilities. They are made of classical materials such as stainless steel, but can also follow the latest trends in glass aluminium. Making the right choice is even easier thanks to the great range of styles and designs, from minimalistic ones to others with curved lines. Square and round overhead showers, thermostatic or single lever tap fittings. A world of products worth discovering.  SkyBasic and Nui Max are fantastic options of hydromassage columns to transform your bathroom into a spa.

Made-to-measure shower trays

If the available space allows it, or if you intend to replace the bath, the extra-large models are much more comfortable when showering. They also allow a very practical space for drying up, that prevents any water from falling on the floor, avoiding any colds. The model Base surface, available in greater sizes and manufactured in Stonex, is ultra-slim and has right angle corners, which make the fitting with the floor and wall tiles much easier. It also has a textured surface with an anti-slip effect. Atos-Plus, Esfera, Elba and Vita offer different formats, some of them extra-large, with contemporary designs while being ultra-slim. If you do not have enough space, you may choose the mini design (starting from 70x 70 cm) from AtlasElba, Esfera or Vita. The recessed models are one of the trendier options, as they also facilitate the access. Regarding materials, ceramic trays continue to be a safe bet, although acrylic ones have a great resistance and an easy cleaning.

Cabins without inhibitions
If you prefer a cabin, you certainly do not need a very big bathroom. All Gala models are manufactured in different sizes, from 90 x 75 cm to 120 x 80 cm. They include sliding doors, and therefore do not need any opening angle. Their installation is simple and, unless they include a sauna or accessories such as light or music, they do not need an electric connection. Gala´s hydromassage cabins include different automatic programmes (toning, sports, relaxing and beauty) which have been the result of studies undertaken to obtain specific effects. All it takes is to simply select the number of a desired massage on the panel and a series of functions is put into action to obtain the desired results. The cabins Planet, in their Basic and Wellness options, include different jets for massage, aromatherapy, …

Tap fittings à la carte
The wash-basin, shower and bath tap fittings play an important role in our search for comfort.  Apart from having impeccable aesthetics, the new bathroom taps by Gala offer endless features, less water consumption and they are environmentally friendly. With the thermostatic models it is possible to obtain the desired temperature (28º- 42º C) in less than one second, optimizing water consumption and avoiding unpleasant temperature changes. Some models include anti-scald safety features, very practical when there are children at home. Although the most drastic change within the market has been seen in overhead rain showers and their different water jets (cascade, torrent, rain with air induction…), that emulate the effects of water and their new performances, such as including chromotherapy. Sizes are now larger, with the arrival of the extra-large ones that cover a greater surface of the shower area. Apart from all these benefits that favour relaxation, there are also mechanisms, such as the flow limiters, that reduce water consumption in up to 30%.

Enclosures of all styles
Being nowadays an essential element in the bathroom, on one hand they provide splash protection and on the other hand, they allow a more relaxing shower as they reproduce the sensation of being inside a cabin. The two essential requirements any enclosure should meet are water tightness and easy cleaning. The new designs, such as Step, tend to reduce profiles as much as possible, making cleaning easier, and to eliminate frames, such as Vision, creating a visual effect of lightness and adapting even better to smaller spaces. The compensating profiles, bearings and magnetic closures guarantee complete water tightness, while the anti-scale glass or the possibility of disassembling the panels make cleaning easier. The 6 to 10 mm safety glass may be clear, smoked, coloured (40% more expensive) or translucent and some even include serigraphic patterns.

A model for each situation
For small bathrooms: it is best to choose clear glass models, with or without serigraphy, that increase brightness. Choose sliding doors that do not need an opening angle. Folding doors are also a good option, as they adapt well and do not take much space. Some of them can be folded inwards and outwards. And if you cannot take these options, pivoting doors that may be opened up to 360º are a solution. For homes with children and older people: choose an enclosure with fractionated doors that can be opened and closed separately, for greater accessibility. For spacious bathrooms: the last trends show enclosures that delineate great shower trays with water and drying areas, playing with fixed panels or glass walls without doors. Gala´s enclosure "Walk in Zero" is one of these new enclosures with two areas and no doors, including a glass that avoids any splashing outside the shower tray.
